Blackout maintenance tagout system

Blackout maintenance tagout system

May 16, 2019

tagout definition:

When installing, maintaining, adjusting, inspecting and cleaning electrical lines and equipment, disconnect the power supply first, and hang the tag "no closing while working" to indicate that the work is in progress. No one is allowed to operate the power switch of the circuit, and then carry out the operation after doing the above work.

1. Risk prediction and protective measures before tagout

Maintenance personnel must make a hazard assessment before opening the protective device, exposing live bodies or working on the line. The assessment mainly includes whether there may be an electric shock accident caused by the wrong power transmission of the circuit and electrical equipment for power failure maintenance due to other people's wrong operation. If there is such a possibility, the personnel must cut off the power supply and put up the "no closing" tag before leaving. The risks that may arise from the actual situation of the operation must be considered before proceeding.

The power supply must be cut off by pulling off the high voltage disconnecting switch or the low voltage disconnecting knife and circuit breaker, so that there are obvious disconnecting points on the line.

tagout must consider the following questions:

The switch is identified correctly and the correct switch and switch are disconnected.

Relevant safety protection measures are in place, such as closing the grounding knife or connecting the grounding wire when working at high voltage.

Personal protective equipment has been prepared, such as test pencil, safety helmet, safety shoes, working at height wearing safety belt.
