Pipeline disassembly safety procedure

Objective:

This procedure is formulated to prevent personnel from being harmed by unanticipated residual energy or chemical substances in the pipelines due to improper disconnection of the pipelines during maintenance and inspection of the process and equipment pipelines.

Scope of application

It is suitable for all piping work in the company.

All employees and contractors must follow this procedure.


Basis of hazard classification

Inflammable and explosive, asphyxial, allergic, acute, chronic poisoning

Pipeline disassembly risk classification:

High hazard line

Including: all substances above 55° and their flammable, explosive, asphyxiating, allergic, causing acute or chronic poisoning of personnel material pipeline.

Low hazard line

Examples: alkyl benzene, alkyl phenyl sulfate, enzymes, nonionic, flavor, sodium hydroxide, sulfur, sulfur dioxide, sulfur trioxide, waste acid, sodium silicate, steam, compressed air.

Low risk pipeline:

Material pipelines other than high risk pipelines, such as: instrument air, vacuum, discharge, tap water, dust removal, exhaust gas and other pipelines.
