Types and methods of energy isolation
The main types of energy isolation in chemical production include process isolation, mechanical isolation, electrical isolation and radioactive source isolation. Process isolation refers to the effective isolation control of the target system by applying the method of opening and closing the process pipeline valve and combining with the loto-lockout-Tagout (in special cases, the method of closing the air source can be adopted for the pneumatic control valve). Mechanical isolation is the most thorough and safe isolation method, the method has removed a line (in process pipeline blind plates with openings or blind flange), rotation of eight blind flange or directly in the flange joint blind flange, such isolation should be carried out by the maintenance staff and ensure that the hand on process pipeline valve closed, listed locked; Electrical isolation refers to the disconnection and separation of electrical energy source from electrical equipment. Source isolation refers to the disconnection or disconnection of related radioactive sources. For simultaneous isolation of process, electrical, etc., mechanical isolation must be conducted after the completion of the process, electrical isolation, etc., prior to the mechanical isolation, the relevant work permit shall be handled according to the work permit process.
According to the risk level determined by JSA-Job Safety Analysis and according to the physical and chemical properties, medium state, process conditions and pipe diameter of the process medium, the main methods for process isolation are as follows: single valve isolation, single valve isolation and blind plate, double valve isolation and empty plate, and double valve isolation and empty plate.
